Biography

The Mandarin was a former magistrate Chinese, wire of an English and an Chinese. who discovered a wreck of vessel Extra-terrestre, Makluan planet, whose inhabitants had the appearance of Chinese dragons. He studied the technology of the vessel and discovered there 10 rings which were used to supply the ship in energy. These 10 rings made the Mandarin very powerful and helped it with a its aim of world conquest.

The Mandarin tried by twice causing the Third World war while launching missiles on the the United States and the the USSR, by hoping that these two countries counteract against China and devastate the world ( Tales Off Suspense #86 , Iron Man #100 ). It also tried to make pass Tony Stark for a traitor so that the United States gives up its security systems ( Iron Man #10-11 and Iron Man #98-100 ).

It even tried to direct the trade union of Stark Entreprises. He wanted to make pass Stark for a Communiste but failed misérablement ( Iron Man #57 ).

The Mandarin was killed first once by Yellow Griffe during the War of theUnpleasant ones. Like other geniuses of the evil, the Mandarin sought to dominate the world after a promise of the LAMA Noir. However, the explosive robot of Yellow Claw very quickly completed the search of its Asian rival ( Iron Man #70 ).

It then tried to destroy the plantations of Chinese Riz to create a famine which would push the peasants to invade the adjoining countries. Jim Rhodos, as Iron Man, ruined his plans ( Iron Man #180-181 ).

With the head of a new business, he faced Iron Man in front of the cameras but was wounded mentally by his own rings ( Iron Man #242 ).

Iron Man fought then was combined with the Mandarin during the saga Seed of the Dragon. The occupants of the crushed vessel made their reappearance and they did not like too the Mandarin ( Iron Man #275 ).

The Mandarin tried to employ the magic to seize the world, in the history of the Hands of the Mandarin. It used a field d'" anti-technologie" to plunge the world in a dark age. Iron Man, War Machine and Force Works stopped it, and he discovered that Iron Man and Stark did only one ( Iron Man #310-312 ).

More recently, the Mandarin wanted to make Russia its new base using a mechanical dragon. Iron Man, helped by the Avengers and the Winterguard, stopped it again ( Iron Man vol.3 #9-10 ).
