Mance
Mance is a common French, located in the department Meurthe-et-Moselle and the area Lorraine.
Its inhabitants is called Mançois.
Its origins go back to more than two thousand years, when Gaulois Belgians Médiomatriques settled on left bank of Alis-Mancia (as a Celt: the muddy river). Today, this river is called the Woigot.
Mance was attached to the Département of Meurthe-et-Moselle in 1871. Before this date, the village belonged to the Moselle.
The Woigot
It takes its source (makes a conjunction of sources of it) close to Landres and Mount-Bonvillers. After having crossed Mance, the Woigot will feed the water level of Briey and will be thrown then in the Orne with Auboué after a course of 21 km. Its principal affluent is the Brook of the Valley.
