Managerial college of Wallonia

The Managerial college of Wallonia is one of the consequences of the creation of the Walloon Popular movement (MPW) which seeks (and finds) the contact with the population well better than the former Walloon movements: those like Free Wallonia, Walloon Restoration, the Walloon liberal Mouvement will find a real dynamics. The MPW organizes a great Walloon demonstration on April 15th, 1962 in Liege. Perhaps but this one does not have completely discounted success. André Renard dies on July 20th, 1962, and that affaibloit even more the MPW.

The Walloon liberal Movement, Free Wallonia and Walloon Restoration (the " Liberal movement wallon" was created by Fernand Schreurs) were groupings which were not movements of mass comparable to the MPW. They did not share its theses out of economic material and social, except the federalism.

The Central committee of Walloon Action is ressuscity in June 1962, associating these various movements, of the federations of the parties Socialist and Communist. A Congress of the Central committee of Walloon Action takes place on March 23rd, 1963 with Namur. It decides the creation of the " precisely; Managerial college of Wallonie" with people of the Walloon Popular movement (Andre Genot, François Perin, Robert Lambion, Leon Defosset), of " Wallonia libre" (Simon Passover, Jean Pirotte), of " Restoration wallonne" (Robert Royer, Lucien Outers), of the Walloon liberal Movement (Jean Van Crombrugge), of the Communists (Jean Terfve), of the Socialists (Hubert Rassart, Freddy Terwagne), of the Christian-Democrats (Joseph Bercy) and of the Started from Walloon Unit (Victor Van Michel). The Flemish newspaper De Standaard presents it as a Waals schaduwkabinet (a phantom Walloon Cabinet of the type of those which the oppositions organized with the the United Kingdom kind of government of the opposition which joined together in its center of the " ministers in some parallels measurement with the effective ministers).

This College succeeds in organizing the Walloon Pétitionnement and making of them a very important success with the collection of more than 600.000 signatures. The purpose of the petition is to collect the maximum of signatures against the adaptation of the parliamentary seats to the figures of the last census and to propose the introduction of the popular referendum with the hope which the federalism will leave there since all the attempts to propose it by lmes parliamentary ways failed. 645.000 voters (d120.000 Of Brussels) sign the texcte is one the third of the Walloon electorate, a majority of the electorate in Province of Liege.

However put at evil by internal divisions, the Managerial college of Wallonia will not be able to develop this success obtained from signatories which the traditional parties will ignore. The College disappears and is made up in its place the permanent Délégation of the Walloon movements, on March 21st when there are no more members of Parliament; trade unionists in particular thinking that they slow down the dynamics of the Walloon movements.
