Man-Sand
Man-Sand ( Sandman in original version) is a character of Cartoon of the universe of the Marvel Comics creates by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1963. It is primarily about an enemy of Spider-Man.
Biography of the character
Origin
William Baker is born and grows in a poor district of New York. Her father having left the marital home whereas it was old only three years, his/her mother and live to him in misery. He learns how to fly very early and succeeds at the school while cheating. With the college, he is very good player of football, but he wastes his chances to become professional player by accepting money to lose an important part. Under the name of loan “Flint Marko”, it turns more and more worms of the criminal activities related to the New Yorkean Medium. He however hopes secretly to repurchase himself and line up with Marcy Conroy, which he marries. These plans fail following its arrest, which is followed of a judgment at several years of prison.After its release, Marko commits several crimes and is again stopped. It succeeds in escaping and decides to gain the south to begin a new life there. It takes refuge on a nuclear site of tests and is in contact with irradiated sand. A kind of fusion between its body and radioactive sand occurs whereas it lost consciousness. With its alarm clock, he realizes that the incident gave him the capacity to transform its body into sand. He gives himself the name of “Man-Sand” ( Sandman ), decided to use his new capacities to continue his criminal activities.
Criminal career
Man-Sand is one of the first adversaries of Spider-Man, which it fights as of Amazing Spider-Man 4 . It is the first of long series of confrontations which Marko most of the time only carries out, but also with the Sinister Six under the direction of the Doctor Octopus. After a series of defeats vis-a-vis the Weaver, it tries his chance against other supermen, in particular vis-a-vis the Fantastic Four, in company of the Sorcier, the Piégeur and Médusa under the name of the “Terrifiques”… but without more success.
It is then seriously wounded while being forced to amalgamate a time with Hydro-Man. To help it to bring back it on the right way, a new identity is established to him, which enables him to become again William Baker. Become retributive, it is even made reservist of the Vengeurs before Silver Sable does not engage it in its Wild Pack of which he becomes the chief.
Unfortunately, a former accomplice, the Wizard, captures it and its true personality returns to him. Baker passes by again then on the bad side of the barrier.
Capacities
Man-Sand can transform whole or part of its body into a substance resembling sand and give to this substance the form which it wishes. Subjected to a very high temperature, it is likely to be transformed into Verre. It can amalgamate sand with its own structure and thus increase its size. It seems that he can remain with the sand state for one unlimited period. Its brain and other body functions continue to function in its astral form even when the sand particles the component are scattered.
Adapted to the cinema
In Spider-Man 3 , where it appears played by Thomas Haden Church, the character of Man-Sand becomes at the same time less malicious and more implied in the life of Spider-Man: although he responsible for died for the Uncle Ben, he is married and the father of a sick little girl, that he seeks to save by the vol. One discovers at the end of film that the murder of Ben Parker, for which he is quite responsible, was in fact an accident.
