Malvasia di Sardegna

The malvasia di Sardegna is a Italian Cépage of white grapes of the big family of Malvasia.

Origin and geographical distribution

It comes from the north of Italy. Of Greek probable origin (see the synonym uva greca), it is classified recommended or authorized on the island of Sardinia.

It is classified auxiliary type of vine in DOC. Malvasia di Bosa and Malvasia di Cagliari. In 1998, it covered 806 ha.

  • Young aranéeuses sheets, bronzed green.
  • adult Sheets, with 5 lobes with narrow higher sines, a petiolar sine in quadrant opened, teeth ogival, average, in two series, a glabrous limb.

Farming aptitudes

Maturity is of third time: 30 days after the chasselas.

Technological potential

The bunches are average and the bays are of intermediate size. The bunch is cylindro-conical, fairly compacts. The flesh is juicy and of a simple or slightly aromatic savor. The type of vine is of average vigor but the production is not very abundant and fairly constant. The produced type of vine of the excellent wines of very original dessert.
