Malnoue

Malnoue is a locality of the commune of Émerainville, in the department of the Seine-et-Marne.

History

The name of the locality was formerly Malenoue, Mala noa, trunk-noux.

It probably took its name of a brook which crossed it, the Valley. (assumption of Misters Ménage and Huet, and the dictionary of Trévoux).

Malnoue could also mean: " bad grazing ground " , without forgetting that the valley was in the past the name of mud.

However at the 18th century this property consisted of an artificial pond and many marshes. It had a very beautiful vegetable garden with a large greenhouse and a very large orchard.
