Male nurse fireman

In France, the male nurses firemen (of which the Acronymie is I.S.P.) are graduate male nurses of State or male nurses graduate anesthetists of State engaged like firemen (voluntary or professional), and attached to the Department of health and of medical helps of the Departmental service of fire and help.

Origins

The creation of the statute of male nurse fireman. The Samu took up this idea of Médicalisation on protocol and some of them start to send a male nurse only armed with protocols of care male nurses.

Specific missions

the ancillary medical assumption of responsibility of victims in the aid operations;

The role of the male nurse fireman within the framework of the emergency Médecine is connected with the role of the Anglo-Saxon Paramedic . They intervene in complement of the personal first-aid worker.

They are entitled to set up protocols of care specific male nurses establish by the doctor responsible for the Department of health and medical helps and to carry out some Gestes of first complementary urgency: in particular installation of a peripheral venous Way, administration of drugs (Antalgic, Tonicardiaque, Antiarythmique, Bronchodilatateur, Anticonvulsivant, glucose) and even to practice the Intubation trachéale according to their formations.
