Malcolm Young is the founder of the group AC/DC.
Born the January 6th 1953 with Glasgow, he is the big brother of Angus Young, the Guitariste solo of AC/DC, to which he offered his first acoustic Guitare. Before founding group AC/DC in 1973, Malcolm played already at the Australian ones of Velvet Underground (not to be confused with that of Lou Reed) in 1971.
It is Malcolm and Angus which write all the songs of AC/DC. Malcolm is regarded moreover as one of the best rhythmic guitarists in the world.
Malcolm Young was born the January 6th 1953 with Glasgow. Big brother of Angus, it leaves also the school very early to work. It is his/her big brother, George, which made him discover the art of the guitar, then is in its turn to show the way with his/her little brother, Angus, by offering its first acoustic Guitare to him. Malcolm has as influences The Rolling Stones and the Jazz such as Louis Armstrong. It is the brain of the group, and he wrote all the songs with his brother. He is equipped with a Gretsch Firebird with large cords.
Through all its career with AC/DC, Malcolm Young used his Gretsch JetFire Bird 1963 although for the promotion of the video of " You Shook Me All Night Long" it uses what seems to be a WhiteFalcon half-case. In the promotion of the Jailbreak clip, he plays on a solid-body Gretsch color fushia. Lastly, on the video of Big Gun, it uses its Gretsch regular. This guitar was thus useful much, having thus survived three Monsters off Rock'n'roll festivals inter alia. It has a Filtertron microphone in position “bridge” (rest). Malcolm had not liked the microphone handle (neck) and it thus withdrew it there is that 20 years.
Malcolm Young never touches with the adjustments of the potentiometers “Thunders”, “Volume” and “Master Volume”, because they are always disconnected. Gretsch de Malcolm is provided with cords 12-56 Gibson 900 ms.
Like médiators, Malcolm Young uses of Fender extra heavy and regular Ernie Ball. The médiators are celluloids extra heavy 1.21 MM color. It has logo AC/DC of dimensioned and its signature on the other.
For the amplifiers, Angus and Malcolm Young use Marshall. The amplifiers piled up on scene behind them are of the 1959 SLP 100 Watt. Each one of these amplifiers is connected to two enclosures of the type 4x12 cabs. Malcolm Young also uses in round of the ordinary Wizard amplifiers.
