Malaunay

Malaunay is a common French, located in the department of the Seine-Maritime and the area High-Normandy.

The commune is crossed by the Cailly.

History

The name of Malaunay originates in the Latin word alna or alnus , which recalls the presence on this site of Aune S, trees which push in very wet zones. The prefix " mal" specify the characteristic of the place which one can thus interpret like " the bad planted site of aunes". One finds this type of Toponyme in the Calvados with a suffix of " presence; aunay" , and in the Handle " Laulne ".

Just like in Montville, the tornado of 1845 caused destruction.
