Malartic

Malartic is a mining Ville of the province of Quebec located in the regional municipality of county of Valley-with-the Gold and in the administrative area Abitibi-Témiscamingue. It is located at 70 km in the east of Rouyn-Noranda in the Québécois North-West. This city counts approximately 3800 inhabitants.

Chronology

• 1916 : Proclamation of the canton of Malartic.
• April 28th, 1939: The canton of Malartic becomes the town of Malartic. Mr. William B. Hetherington is elected mayor.
