The Malagasy Kestrel or Faucon of Newton ( Falco newtoni ) is a Rapace diurnal pertaining to the family of the Falconidae.

Etymology

The Latin name of the species, newtoni , and one of the vernacular names, Falcon of Newton, is dedicated to Sir Edward Newton (1832-1897) which worked in the colonial administration and was a large ornithologist of ground.
