Biography

Malachi Farrel is an artist Irish born with Dublin in 1970, he lives and works in Paris region, with Malakoff. It carries out installations and is regarded as an artist Cinétique.

It uses indeed the sound, the light, the Chorégraphie of machines and objects articulated by complex electronic circuits of which it draws itself the plans. In these settings in scene mixing do-it-yourself and state-of-the-art technologies, Malachi Farrel tells contemporary fables impressed of a strong emotional load, where the spectator, continuously endangered, is brought to become aware of the duty of engagement vis-a-vis a company which he considers too often brutal. It composes with humor, using the Satire and the Caricature, it can thus in this direction be attached to Daumier or with Beckett, its art is before any policy and denouncer.

It works with electromechanical choreographies, those conditioning our environment, by taking into account a vocabulary resulting from the punk and industrial culture, soup into which the artist fell when it was small. Its devices overflow sometimes towards a kind and a spirit close to the Théâtre (of street). In the same way, the situations which it sets up open the point of view on a culture which it could constitute by sharing a co-education of origins (it shares the French and Irish culture).
