Makina
Origin
The word “ makina ” means “Spanish machine” owing to the fact that the first nightclubs to play this style of music were located near the industrial parks.
Born with the beginning from the the Nineties in Spain, more precisely in the North-East of the Catalonia in the area of Barcelona, the makina knew a difficult beginning but one attended his explosion quickly, in particular thanks to boxes such as Octopussy, Xque, Pont Aeri, Chasis, Festa, Scorpia and well of others. Derived from the Dance, the makina is characterized by a rather high Tempo (towards 170-180 BPM), of low powerful, the melodies merry and very easy to retain. Currently, a movement Hardcore invaded the Spain.
Nevertheless, the makina starts to be established in France, in particular thanks to the label “Bit Music” and with its series of compilations %makina (100% makina… and 10000%makina), that the makineros and will makineras criticize owing to the fact that they estimate that these compils is not representative enough of what is true the makina. But a new series of Cd named " Makina resistance" gave a tone to the top whereas the series of % makina started to be blown
Like known DJ makina, one finds Juan Cruz, Franck Traxx, Dani Fiesta, Pastis and Buenri (Activated), like Skudero and Metralla (Pont Aeri). The most known discotheque of France, the Marina Atlantis, is with Port-Barcarès, close to Perpignan (the Eastern Pyrenees). The residents are Botch and Brian.
Recently, the musical turning that the makina takes was criticized much, certain DJ mixing Jumpstyle, Harddance, Hardstyle, Hardtrance or hardcore with the makina.
One will retain as the makina evolved/moved much since its creation, as well at the technical level as on the mental age. It causes in certain young people a great passion in Catalogne Spanish and French (in the the Eastern Pyrenees).
