Makalu

The Makalu is the fifth Sommet highest of the world. It is located on the Frontière tibét O Nepal ease at 8.463 m of Altitude. Makalu is a isolated Montagne which with the form of a Pyramide to four Côté S.
Rises
- 1954 - First attempt by a American Forwarding on the Edge south-eastern which reaches the altitude of 7.100 meters.
- 1955 - the first rise is made by Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy the May 15th during a French forwarding carried out by Jean Franco on the north-eastern northern face and edge. The following day the three other members reach the top.
- 1970 - the May 23rd, first rise of the south-eastern edge by two climbing of a Japanese forwarding.
- 2006 - the French mountaineer Jean-Christophe Lafaille loses the life while wanting to carry out the first winter rise as a recluse of the Makalu.
