Major table

Tableau Modal Majeur

Construction

This table is built on the major mode , i.e.:

T - 2 - 3M - 4 - 5 - 6M - 7M
  • This example is the major modal table, its construction distinguishes it from the minor modal table below, which him, is built on the basis of melody minor mode .

Appendix

It is possible to remove certain notes:

On a CM7, it is possible for example, to remove the 7 (B), or Dm7 can be played only DM, in the same way VIIe degree (m7b5) can be played decreased (Bm7b5 => Bdim).
  • In the same way, one can substitute certain notes:

By exempl, Gm7 => Gm6
  • Attention: that obeys certain rules related to the Harmonie!

In the same way one should not confuse the substitution of notes with the substitution of agreements which intervene within the framework of the structure of the gives rhythm!

Melody minor table

Tableau Modal Minor Mélodique

Construction

  • This table is built on the melody minor mode (ascending) , i.e.:

  • There exist many alternative names for the various modes. Let us quote as examples:
#le dominant Lydian mode is also known under the names: range of Bartok, Lydian b7, mixolydien #4;
#le mode mixolydien b6 is sometimes known under the name of major melody range;
#le half-decreased mode is also known under the name of locrien #2;
#le superlocrien mode is also known under the names: deteriorated range, decreased range semitone/tone.
