Major Conversion
In general, the refiner always seeks to maximize the production of the light products, in particular of the fuels and the jet A1, in order to extract the maximum of profits. Also, when the situation allows it, it tries to convert all the heavy fractions into light products, by using all the processes placed at its disposal such as catalytic cracking, visbreaking, the coking. One says in this case which the conversion is deep because at the end it remains only little of very heavy products such as very heavy fuels and coke.
