Maisoncelles-of-Maine
Maisoncelles-of-Maine is a common French, located in the department of the Mayenne and the area Pays of the Loire.
Geography
History
The first mentions of the village of Maisoncelles “ G. of Mesoncellis ” and “ Mr. de Masuncellis ” date from the years 1200. The church restored in 1804, comprises a nave of the 11th century. Holy Émerentienne, owner of Maisoncelles of Maine is called upon for the cure of the pains of entrails.Mathurin Roullin, priest of Maisoncelles, permutte his cure with Pierre Lemesle, priest of Saint-Germain-the-Fouilloux which arrives at Maisoncelles in December 1640, it resigns of its station in 1659 and is buried in the church the March 5th 1660.
Maisoncelles had the chance to have, at the end of the 19th century a priest scholar, the abbot Charles Maillard, who has joins together his research in a work parochial Chroniques of Maisoncelles . The author quotes the names of the farms with whom lived there, which can be invaluable to compensate the loss of the parochial registers former to 1671.
In 1731 a lawsuit opposes the priest of Maisoncelles, Jean Boulay with the Duc of Trémoille about repairs to be carried out on the parish church.
Another lawsuit between the priest of Maisoncelles and the Chaplain of Jupellière relates to the division of the dime, initially regulated by a transaction of the July 7th 1517. Among the parts relative to this long conflict one finds mention of a Reconnaissance of Sieur Houllière by which it is known as that named Cribier paid on the farm of known as Closeau of Caroterie six books to the sior Boulay cleaned in his receipt . Other parts show the importance taken by this business which goes up to the Parliament of Paris and with the King. Jean Boulay was cleaned of 1694 with 1739.
There was still vine in 1779: In country vineyard as was formerly Maisoncelles said the priest in 1759. The Castle of Jupellière, residence of the family of Houllières, is in the style Louis XIV. A royal notary in Maine, remained in Bigottières with Maisoncelles: Jacques Gougeon for the residence of Parné. Jehan Dorcemaine is also quoted as notary.
In 1830, Maisoncelles comprises a proportion of great properties of more than 50 hectares particularly important, thus four families control 52% of the surface of the commune, they are Berset with Vaufleury, Foucault of Bigottières, Lemonnier de Lorrière and Hardas. With dimensions remains only of the goods of less than 10 hectares.
