Mainichi Shinbun
The Mainichi Shinbun (in Kanji : 毎日新聞, literally newspaper of each day ) is one of the newspapers Japan board with higher pulling. It is published by The Mainichi Newspapers Co., Ltd. (株式会社毎日新聞社, Kabushiki-gaisha Mainichi Shinbusha ). The chairman is Masato Kitamura.
History
The history of the newspaper starts with the foundation of two newspapers during the era Meiji. The Tōkyō Nichi Nichi Shinbun was the first with being founded, the February 21st 1872. The Ōsaka Mainichi Shinbun was founded four years later, in 1876. The two newspapers were amalgamated in 1911, but the two companies continued to print the newspapers each one on their side, and this until in 1943, when one gave the title of Mainichi Shinbun to both. In 1966 the office of Tōkyō moved of Yurakucho with Takebashi, and in 1992 the office of Ōsaka moved of Dojima with Nishi-Umeda.
Today
The newspaper has: 3200 employees who work in 364 offices in Japan like in 26 abroad. It is one of the three large newspapers of Japan and has 79 associated companies, of which the Tokyo Broadcasting System , the Mainichi Broadcasting System and the Japanese newspaper Sports .Two former chairmen of the newspaper became Prime Ministers of Japan, and the Mainichi is the only Japanese newspaper to have gained a Prix Pulitzer. The Association of the newspapers of Japan, composed of 180 organizations of topicality, gave its Grand Prix to the newspaper with 21 recoveries, making Mainichi gaining it more rewarded for this prestigious price since its creation in 1957.
In addition to the editions of the morning and evening of the Mainichi Shinbun , the company has an online version in English called Mainichi Daily News , which was at one printed time. It prints also a bilingual weekly review English Japanese, the Mainichi Weekly , like several paperbacks, of the books connected and the magazines, of which a weekly magazine, the Sunday Mainichi (in English, Mainichi of Sunday ).
As much of other Japanese press companies, the Mainichi animates many cultural events, of which exposures of art and matches of sport. Most known are the tournament of Baseball Sembatsu college, which takes seat each Printemps with the Stade Koshien, as well as the tournament amateur of baseball all the be S with the Tokyo Dome (formerly with the Stade Korakuen).
