Synopsis
A killer the night, in the district of the Marsh has Paris assassinates woman alones. The Maigret police chief suspects the criminal of seeking to cause it. He makes stop a false agreeing culprit, Mazel, so as to oblige the true murderer to act once again during the reconstitution of the last crime. The killer attacks an auxiliary of the police force, but again manages to flee… During this time, the Lagrume inspector took in spinning mill an young woman, Yvonne Maurin, whose attitude had appeared suspect to him. Maigret visits him and becomes acquainted with her husband, Marcel, architect-decorator. In fact Marcel passed his youth places from the Vosges and his/her mother lives block of houses precisely where the assassin at the time of his last attempt… Bientôt Maigret disappeared is sure to hold the culprit and stops Marcel Maurin. But a new crime is committed whereas the suspect is kept with the quay of the Goldsmiths. Confronting the mother and the wife of Maurin, which exacerbates their heinous competition, Maigret obtains the consents of Yvonne: it is it which made this free murder to try to clear her uncovered husband
