Mahonia of Japan

The mahonia of Japan is a species of plant of the family of the Berberidaceae , tribe of the Berberideae .

Descripion

It is a Arbuste (1 to 2 m) rustic (- 20° C) with the persistent sheets and winter flowering ( February - March to see as of November) whose origin remains dubious, probably of the island of Taiwan because as opposed to what could let suppose its name, this species does not seem to meet in a wild state with the Japan. Its fruits blue sinks are covered with Pruine and mature in July. The species is very close to the Mahonia bealei (China).
