Mahmud I

The Cinque Ground are five coastal villages bordering the National park of the same name in the province of Spezia in Italy. One can go there in Train thanks to the line connecting Spezia and Genoa.

According to some accustomed of the places, the best period to visit Cinque Ground goes from April to May, before estival crowd, or after August when these last left.

The five villages, in the order since Spezia, are: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso Al Pond. In 1997, UNESCO declared them inheritance of humanity.

A regional railway line connects the five villages with Spezia. There are also good pedestrian paths between the villages. The path of Riomaggiore with Manarola is called it Via Dell' Amore (the Way of in love). It skirts the coast, walk is easy and the splendid sight. The way of Manarola with Corniglia is also easy to traverse. That driving of Corniglia with Vernaza is sometimes stiff. The path of Vernazza with Monterosso, through the Vine S and the orchards of olive-tree S is stiffest by far but offers the most beautiful sights on bay.

  • the Limoncello, lemon liquor produced containing sugar and water, alcohol, pieces of lemon peel.
