Mahamane Ousmane
Mahamane Ousmane is a politician native of Niger born the January 20th 1950 with Zinder (Niger).
After having studied the cash economy and financial in France and with the Canada, Mahamane Ousmane returns to Niger in 1980.
In January 1991, it founds the political party democratic and social Convention (CDS) of social democrat aspiration. March 27th 1993, during the first democratic election, it is elected president of the republic with 55,42% of the voices. He is quickly confronted with an economic crisis and social, as well as the rebellion Touareg with which he signs an peace agreement on April 24th 1995.
In September 1994, a reversal of alliance the met in minority with the National Assembly. In February 1995, it loses the legislative elections and names Hama Amadou, one of the main leaders of the majority party directed by the future president Tandja Mamadou.
The January 27th 1996, it is reversed by a coup d'etat carried out by the colonel Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara.
