Magnoliaceae

The family of the Magnoliacées is a family of plants Angiosperme S primitives. The subdivision in kinds is discussed, one of classifications used includes/understands 230 Espèce S divided into 7 kind S:

  • Elmerrillia, Kmeria, Liriodendron, Magniolia, Manglietia, Michelia, Pachylarnax .

In Classification APG, accepts only two kinds: Liriodendron and Magniolia .

They are trees or shrubs of the zones moderated with tropical. Belong to this family the Magnolia S ( kind Magnolia ) and the Tulipier S ( kind Liriodendron ).

The organization of the flower of Magnolia is remarkable. However, unlike the majority of the other plants with flowers which have their floral parts laid out in successive circles, the Magnoliaceae have cheesecloths and pistils laid out in spiral (what one supposes being, according to the fossils which one lays out, a primitive character).

The names Magnoliophyta , Magnoliopsida , Magnoliidae are formed starting from the name Magnoliaceae .
