Maglor
Maglor is a character of the work of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Second wire of Fëanor and Nerdanel, Maglor was born in Valinor. His/her father named it Kanafinwë “Finwë with the powerful voice”, and his/her mother called it Makalaurë , name with the dubious significance but generally interpreted like meaning “forging gold”, in reference to her voice. Maglor was indeed a poet and the singer, and probably most sensitive of seven wire of Fëanor. One owes him the song called Noldolantë , the Fall of Noldor.
It lent the Oath of Fëanor and followed his father in exile and took part in all the battles of the First Age, but it took part only with reserve in the fratricidal massacres of Doriath or Le Havre of the Sirion. Following this last battle, it collected the twins Elrond and Elros and dealt with their education, their parents Eärendil and Elwing having made veil towards the West.
After the fall of Morgoth, Eönwë, herald of Manwë, took the two last Silmaril S. Maglor did not wish more to respect the Oath which had been at the origin of so many deaths, but his/her older brother Maedhros ends up convincing it to follow it, and they concealed each one Silmaril. But those burned the flesh to them, signs that their right on the jewels was deposed. Maedhros, insane of pain, was thrown in a crack, while Maglor launched its Silmaril in sea waters. Thereafter, he wandered along the coasts by singing his pain.
