Maggi

Maggi is a mark of food products of the group Nestlé, in particular producing bubbles, soups and condiments.

History

The liquid condiment Maggi is created by Julius Michael Johannes Maggi in 1887. Manufactured starting from several grasses, this liquid quickly becomes a success, so much so that the popular speech re-elects the Livèche " grass in Maggi " whereas, paradoxically, this grass does not use the composition of the condiment.

As of 1893, the factory acquires an agricultural domain to produce itself the fresh vegetables and other natural products. It opens, between 1887 and 1889, several branches with Paris, Berlin, Singen, Vienna, Bregenz and London, as well as an agency with the the United States. In 1899, a model dairy is opened with Saint-Omer-in-Roadway.

In 1908, the company created of the bubbles in the form of cubes. Following the death of Julius Maggi, the company joined the Holding Alimentana S.A. which amalgamates in 1947 with the group Nestlé under the name of Nestle-Alimentana S.A. .
