Magdalena (river)

The Magdalena is the most important Fleuve of Colombia which is born in the the Andes (Eastern Cordillera), in the south-west of the country (southern of the department of Oiled). It runs in a broad valley between the Colombian cordilleras power station and Eastern, in northern direction through all the country. It is thrown in the Caribbean Sea (Caribbean Sea, Atlantic Ocean) with Bocas de Ceniza, close to Barranquilla (department of Atlántico), first seaport of Colombia.

Its affluents having title of river are more than 500, to what some 2000 brooks are added. The principal ones are the Río Cauca, Río Cesar and Río Funza.

Its length is of 1.558 kilometers of which 1.230 are navigable.
