Magdala turn
The Tour Magdala is a famous building of the village of Rennes-the-Castle. It was built in the field of the Abbé Salt box little time after the restoration of the church (i.e. as from the year 1900). This very small tower is built on the model of the medieval towers, and overhangs the area, making it possible to see of in top a score of villages. It can also be seen with the naked eye by far. Salt box had made tower Magdala its library and its place of meditation, but this building became today the emblême mystery of Rennes, because it symbolizes at the same time the richness of the abbot and his mysterious tastes.
