Magda Schneider (Augsburg, May 17th 1909 - Berchtesgaden, July 30th 1996), actress and German singer , mother of the actress Romy Schneider.

Biography

From its true name Magdalena Schneider , Magda Schneider is born the May 17th 1909 with Augsburg in Bavaria. After having carried out the trade of shorthand typist, she studies the song with the academy of Augsburg and the ballet with the theater of the city. She makes her beginnings as a Soubrette with the Staatstheater amndt Gärtnerplatz of Munich. She is then noticed by Ernst Marischka and takes down in 1930 its first role with the cinema.

She marries in 1936 the Austrian actor Wolf Albach-Retty of which she will have two children: Rosemarie Magdalena, actress born in 1938 and Wolfgang Dieter, surgeon born in 1940. She divorces Wolf Albach-Retty in 1945 and marries in 1953 the restorer of Cologne Hans-Herbert Blatzheim. The same year, it makes it possible her daughter to play in the film which it is turning, white Lilas ; thus will be born the career from Romy Schneider.

She dies the July 30th 1996 with Schoenau.
