A magazine is a periodic, generally illustrated Publication, of variable pagination, covering subjects general practitioners or sometimes specialized. It is distinguished from the Revue, which is limited to a precise field (literary, scientific, etc) and Fanzine, which is carried out by and for impassioned without search for Profit.
The term “magazine” was borrowed towards the end of the 18th century from English, magazine , deterioration of French “store”. This word had besides in French this same direction of periodic collection of information, meaning now left the use. Several titles existed between, and even at the beginning of the 20th century, like the picturesque Magasin , the encyclopedic Magasin , the Illustration , etc

A magazine can be published each day (daily), but more generally once by week (weekly) or once a month (monthly). If it is published every fifteen days it is semi-monthly or Quinzomadaire . It can also be two-monthly (every two months), quarterly (every three months) or semi-annual (twice a year). Beyond these periods, these adjectives are seldom used like names. One will say thus that Paris Match is a weekly magazine, and the History a monthly magazine. In France, the Candle of the sapper is a magazine which leaves all the February 29th, i.e. every four years.
The term magazine is also used in the medium of the Télévision to indicate emissions proposing of the Reportage S and, possibly, of the Interview S of guests in plate.
