Maestro di Trognano

Maestro di Trognano appoints an active anonymous artist in Lombardy in the last quarter of the 15th century, author of statues and wood sculptures of high-quality in the duchy of the Sforza.

Biography

Its name of Maestro of Trognano is given to him by a Natività (1490) finely carved, painted and gilded, oratory San Giuseppe de Trognano, in the commune of Bascapè (province of Pavia), preserved now at the Museum of Decorative Arts of the Castello Sforzesco of Milan.
