Maestro di Castelsardo

The Maestro di Castelsardo (the Master of Castelsardo) was a painter (between the end of 15th and the beginning of the 16th century). Some identifies it like Gioacchino Cavaro, but its identity still makes the subject of debate. Probably originating in Catalonia, it works in north of the Corsica Sardinia and in . It returns in Catalogne where it continues to work in the current of the 16th century.

The Maestro di castelsardo is posed like ground mediator Sarde, between international painting Gotique of Iberian inspiration, and the innovations of the Italian rebirth and Flemish E.

The anonymous author was called thus in 1926 by Carlo Aru, which on the basis of its work in the cathedral of Sant' Antonio Abbé in Castelsardo, traced the stylistic profile of it.
