History
The villages of Maestrazgo belonged in majority to the Templiers and, after the dissolution of their kind, to the Hospital ones. Thus, Cantavieja, Mirambel, Villarluengo and other places preserve the structure of medieval villages historical surrounded by walls or with a castle, which highlights the defensive character that they had with the eyes of the military orders.The general Ramón Cabrera Griñó took there his actions in this zone during the First War Carliste (1833 - 1840).
