Maelström is a Canadian Film of Denis Villeneuve left in 2000.
Synopsis
It is a fish which tells this history, a fish resulting from the watery magma of the beginning of the formation of the universe. By one evening of rainy summer, an young woman, Bibiane Champagne (Marie-Josée Croze), strike a man with her car. The casualty, a Norwegian immigrant, succeeds in returning at his place to die there gently. The life of Bibiane plunges then in an unimaginable chaos. At the time when it risks its life to erase all traces of its gesture, it is seen giving a new chance, like a second birth resulting from water of the river. This dialog between the life and death, the ground and water, will find its result when the young woman meets that which will change its destiny.
