Mael (vampire)
Mael is a fictitious character of the Chronicles of Vamprires written by the Anne Rice writer.
One finds Mael for the first time in Lestat the Vampire. It is with Marius and Pandora one of the " children of the millénaires". Marius briefly tells the history of his life to the young person Lestat and explains to him that Mael is the druid who imprisoned it and brought its god in the Crowned Thicket has.
One finds it in the Queen of Damnés where it is discovered that he is the companion of Maharet, in charge of the protection of Jesse, downward of Maharet. Because of a fatal wound during the concert of Lestat, Jesse receives the dark gift of Maharet and becomes has its turn vampire. Then, all the three go in the manor of Maharet where all the vampires are joined together having survived the massacre perpetrated by the queen of damnés the Akasha. Mael is present when Maharet tells its history, then when it tries to reason Akasha and finally when Mekare kills the latter by slicing the head to him.
Its third apparation in the chronicles is located at the any end of the book Memnoch the demon, when Lestat brings back the veil of Sainte Veronique (Holy Shroud) after her voyage to the paradise and in hell. Indeed, of many " anciens" , whose Mael makes parties, meet by learning the news from the return of Lestat with the veil. David and Lestat meet Mael in the street and this last their fact knowledge which it will give itself has god while being immolant by the sun.
