The Madrague is celebrates it property acquired by Brigitte Bardot in 1958 with Saint Tropez, it is located on the road of Canebiers.
History
At the time, the actress sought a house “the feet in water”, it ardently wished to live at the edge of the Méditérannée but did not find anything which is not appropriate to him really. Whereas it turned the Woman and the puppet to Alméria, in the south of the Spain, his/her parents, who possaidaient already a residence with Saint-Tropez, discovered the Madrague. But already someone else was on the business. On the insistence of her mother declaring to him that the house was marvellous, Brigitte Bardot made the voyage into the small village of fisherman and have a true very favorite for the property. She acquired of it immediately.
Consequently, the Madrague was the theater of imposing festivals which made the headline of the Parisian newspapers. Sacha Distel, Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo and well of others passed by there. Gunter Sachs poured even in the helicopter a rain of rose petal above as a declaration of love.
A few years after the withdrawal of Brigitte Bardot of the plates of cinema, the latter made gift of its property to its foundation, in order to ensure the perrenity of it. In fact, she states today “to live in her animals”.
Today still, the Madrague belongs to the places impossible to circumvent visited at the time of the tourist walks in boats during the summer with Saint Tropez.
With her death, Brigitte Bardot stated to want to make Madrague a museum where the collected money will be transferred with the profit of the Fondation Brigitte Bardot
Anecdotes
At the time, Brigitte Bardot had a very exceptional exemption, while being able to build walls on the beach in the continuity of her house, in order to protect her intimacy, which made scandal.
The house was burglarized good ten time.
The guards of the Madrague were a true lasting problem of many years for Brigitte Bardot. In particular, it engaged a couple which had just made a steering or a guard which tried to misuse it.
