Madeleine de Grandmaison
Madeleine de Grandmaison born in 1938 is a political woman inhabitant of Martinique.
She is since 1998 vice-president of the district council of the Martinique and since 2003 president of the CMT (Committee Inhabitant of Martinique of Tourism).
Regional adviser since 1986, it occupies an important place in the political life inhabitant of Martinique. In 1998 it becomes 3rd vice-president of the area (directed by Alfred Marie-Jeanne) and president of the commission of the cultural affairs.
In 2003, it tries to obtain the nomination of its party, PPM, for the partial legislative election which takes place following the invalidation of Pierre Samot. Supported by Claude Lise, it is beaten by the candidate of the mayor of Fort de France (which him same will be made beat largely by Philippe Edmond-Mariette of the group Bâtir the Country Martinique of Pierre Samot).
In 2004, for the regional elections, it is with the chief candidate " Martiniquaises" convergences; PPM and DVG. It must face the list of the Patriots of Marie-Jeanne outgoing president but also of the list " Alliance for the Martinique" country; group To build, Socialist party and various lefts. In spite of the forecasts it arrives in second position at the 1st turn behind Alfred Marie-Jeanne but in front of Pierre Samot who is constrained to amalgamate with it. But the carryforward of voice is hurt and it is beaten. It becomes 7th vice-president of the area all the same and preserves the presidency of the CMT or it follows an energetic policy to promote the Martinique destination.
Near to Claude Lise, it left the PPM following the Congress of 2005, to found a new party, the democratic Rassemblement inhabitant of Martinique.
October 14th, 2007, Madeleine de Grandmaison is named appointed European after the resignation of the European deputy originating in the Meeting, Paul Vergès.
