Madeleine de France (1443-1495)

Madeleine de France , born with Turns on February 1st 1443, died with Pampelune the January 21st 1495, girl of Charles VII, king de France, and of Marie of Anjou.
She had been promised in marriage to Ladislas Posthumous the (of Habsbourg), king de Hongrie, Croatia, Bohème, and duke of Austria, but this last died (in 1457, at seventeen years; it is known today that it was of leukemia) before to have had time to marry it.
She married in 1461 with Saint-Jean-in Angély Gaston de Foix (1444 † 1470), prince de Viane, wire of Gaston IV, count de Foix and Viscount of Béarn, and Éléonore Ire of Aragon, queen of Navarre, and had:
- * François Phébus (1466 † 1483), king de Navarre
- * Catherine (1470 † 1517), queen of Navarre, married in 1484 with Jean III of Albret (1469 † 1516).
Her husband died in 1470, his father-in-law in 1472 and his/her mother-in-law in 1479 and her son, still minor inherited it. Madeleine ensured regency in the name of her son, who died in 1483 at the 17 years age, then in the name of her daughter until in 1494.
