Papy made of resistance is a French film carried out by Jean-Marie Poiré, left in 1983. It is, at the origin, a play written by Martin Lamotte and Christian Clavier.
Synopsis
The " Bourdelle" (Jacqueline Maillan), large Professional singer, is the wife of large resisting and maestro André Bourdelle (Jean Carmet), killed by the explosion of a grenade sent and replaced on the bench of its car by a Tennis man. The Bourdelle family very quickly sees her private mansion invested by the German forces. Complaining with the Kommandantur made excesses, it, its daughters and their tenant help an English soldier to escape and hide it.
The family, which must face the acrimony of their former caretaker Ramirez (Gerard Jugnot) become agent of the Gestapo, is considered better by the general Spontz (Roland Giraud) who will bind with the girl Bourdelle (Dominique Lavanant). But the son (Martin Lamotte), a hairdresser apparently couard and effeminate, is in fact Super-Résistant. As for the tenant Michel Taupin (Christian Clavier), in love unhappy with one of the Bourdelle young ladies, her insistent will to join the Résistance involves many adventures. Imprisoned stupidly after the episode of Kommandantur, it meets resistant, Felix/Frémontel (Jacques François), which entrusts to him, being believed about to be shot, but here are released by Super-Résistant, and Felix who sees themselves encumbered of a pot of adhesive…
Although she swore not to sing as long as there would be a German on the ground of France, Bourdelle is seen forced by Spontz to take part in the reception of the half-brother of Hitler, the marshal von Apfelstrudel (Jacques Villeret). The resistant ones entrusted to Michel Taupin the responsibility to make there jump a bomb.
Towards the beginning of the year 1980, a televised debate joins together them (put aside Ramirez which is replaced by his/her son Ramirez JR…) and turns very quickly to the catastrophe obliging the organizer to make cut the antenna.

Around film
- the film is supposed to make fun of films on Resistance, instead of Resistance itself. Certain associations the old resistant ones expressed their dissatisfaction to be seen thus brocardés.
- the name of the Spontz general evokes a recurring character of the Aventures of Tintin , the Colonel Sponsz. Spons means sponge as inhabitant of Brussels.
- the name of the marshal played by Jacques Villeret, Apfelstrudel, is that of a Pâtisserie Autrichienne.
- Left the same year as death Louis de Funès, the film was dedicated to him. It was to play the part of Grandpa besides. It is its old accomplice of the Gendarmes , Michel Galabru, who replaced it with the raised foot.
- the film contains a false end, followed by a televised debate of the Dossiers of the screen where one finds the majority of the characters later a few tens of years, with some surprises. It is acted in fact of a double reference: the credits of the Files of the screen , passage of the Spirituals for Orchestrated (1959) Morton Gould, is also known to be used by the scenario writer Jean-Pierre Melville in the Army of the shades (1969), film emblematic devoted to Resistance.
- the castle of Tool bag-in-Brie (Seine-et-Marne) as its park were used as decorations with the final scenes of film.
Resemblance to the Great Ramble
Made grandpa of Resistance having left after great success the Great Ramble, it could not retain himself to take as a starting point the scenario of Oury. Indeed the history seems to be the same one: An big family of musicians, taking as a starting point the model of Toscanini as with Stanislas Lefort, finds itself with an English under the arms. There too they will be pursued by the Gestapo, and will have to place it in clandestinity. The scenario of Grandpa made of Resistance is thus very similar to that of the Great Ramble.
