Mackled

The mackled lutea , or stains yellow, is the zone of the Rétine characterized by a maximum concentration of cones. Located at the bottom of the eye, in the axis of the Pupil, mackled it has a diameter of approximately 2 Misters.

Mackled contains in its center a small depression, the Fovéa: entirely made up of tight cones the ones against the others, this one is the zone of maximum Acuité of the eye, i.e. that which gives the most precise Vision in diurnal lighting. It is on it that one brings the image of the point towards which one directs the glance.

The macular Dégénérescence related to the age is at the origin of the fall of the quality of the sight into growing old.
