Macintosh Quadra 630

Left in July 1994, the Macintosh Quadra 630 was the last Macintosh of office containing processor 68040. It was intended to replace the Quadra 610. The versions for the general public were Performa of the series 630 which differed by their random access memory, them Hard drive and the screen provided in bundle: Performa 630 , 631 , 635 , 636 , 637 , 638 and 640 .

The versions for education were named Macintosh LLC 630 and left only at the end of November 1994. These models were equipped with a second processor: a processor PowerPC 601 or Intel 486DX2 (Compatible model DOS ), given rhythm into 66 MHz, was integrated in port PDS.

These Macintosh integrated a processor 68040 (or 68LC040 for the models LLC and Performa ) given rhythm into 33 MHz, 4 Mo of RAM and 1 Mo of Read-only memory. The 630 was the first Macintosh to use a Hard drive IDE and not SCSI (the reader of CD-ROM remained to the standard SCSI). Although not very evolutionary in RAM and VRAM, it offered various ports of extension owners making it possible to increase its capacities: a port PDS (for the 2 processor), a port for video chart or tuner TV and a port Com.
