Machik Labdrön
Machik Labdrön (Tibetan: མ ་ གཅིག ་ ལབ ་ སྒྲོན ་, Wylie: My-gcig Lab-sgron) (1031-1129 or 1055-1143),) was the founder of the practice of Chöd. Contemporary of Milarépa, Machik Labdrön is regarded as an emanation of Yeshe Tsogyal, a Dakini as well as a deity. It symbolizes the Perfection of Wisdom and the Large Mother. Its arrival with the Tibet had been announced in a Soutra of the Buddha Sakyamuni and by Padmasambhava. Chöd or Tcheu means literally to slice , in the direction to cut the attachment to the ego and the disturbing emotions. This practice attacks the suffering itself, since it is presented, by appeasing and cut, consequently involving the disappearance of the causes of the suffering and a release of any fear by the realization of the true nature of the spirit, vacuity and paramount clearness. One finds this tradition and the lesson which results from this as a whole from the schools from the Bouddhisme Tibetan.
