Machala
Machala is a city of the south-west of the Ecuador, capital of the province of El Oro; located in the low plates, it counts 216.901 inhabitants (estimate 2000).
The city is an important commercial pole for agricultural industries of the surroundings, mainly producing of Banane S, Café and Cacao. It shelters a university and is used as stopover on the road between the port of Puerto Bolívar and the islands Jambeli.
The center town comprises many hotels.
