The Ara is a Rivière north is Spain which takes its source in the Vallée of Bujaruelo, on the sides of the solid mass of the Vignemale, slope southern of the the Pyrenees, to further join 70 km the Cinca with Aínsa-Sobrarbe, with uneven of 2 092 m (of 2 620 m to 528 m) and an average slope of 3%.
The Macaw is the only river of some importance, in Spain, which is not dammed up by the man on the 70 km its length.
Its principal affluents are the rivers Otal, Arazas (Vallée of Ordesa), Sorrosal, Chate, Forcos, Guargas, Sieste and Ena.
The Vallée of the Macaw is an good example of valley refrigerator on its first half, although strongly eroded by the River since the disappearance of the Glacier S.
