Macallan

Macallan is a Distillerie of Whiskey located at Craigellachie in the area of the Speyside in Scotland. Created in 1824 by one named Alexander Reid, distilling belongs to the Edrington group.

Macallan is one of the most important distillings of Speyside, as well in production as in re-elected its whiskeys.

Distilling has 7 wash stills and 14 spirit stills of very small size and produces nearly 6 million liters of pure alcohol per annum. The ageing of the whiskeys is done exclusively in barrels of Sherry.

Its individual malts rich and powerful and are marked by flavors of dry fruits and spices.

There exists also a vintage range between 1926 and 1976: the Fine & Rare Collection .

Macallan is also used as bases blends for The Famous Grouse in particular.
