Maakhir

The Maakhir is an area of Somalia which autoproclamé its independence in an area disputed between the Somaliland and the Puntland. Independence, declared on July 1st, 2007 was not recognized by the federal government of transition from Somalia.

Policy and Government

The statute disputed between Puntland and Somaliland also meant that Sanaag as a whole could not have received all the help available broken down by governmental organizations. The government lately established of Maakhir made of this problem, one their first priorities, and launched a call to the Diaspora of Warsangali for assistance.
