MTV Unplugged
MTV Unplugged is a television program of the American chain MTV showing popular artists in acoustic concert.
The first famous session is that of Bon Jovi in 1989. That of Nirvana in 1993, is also famous with its pieces little known of Nirvana, Meats Puppets and David Bowie. The concert finishes with a resumption of the bluesman Leadbelly Where did you sleep last night .
In 1995, the group of Hard rock KIS plays for MTV Unplugged , which represents for the fans a historical concert with the meeting of the former musicians. The reaction is so positive that the original group is reformed in 1996, for the first time since 1979. The same will apply to Led Zeppelin in 1994 with the session Unledded joining together Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.
In 1996, the group Alice in Chains with its singer Layne Staley obviously in bad health because of its dependence to heroin, offers despite everything a concert of quality.
MTV revives the emission for Alicia Keys in September 2005. It has been the first acoustic concert for it, like for MTV for three years. One notes like special guests Mos Def, Common and Damian Marley.
One also calls MTV Unplugged the albums recorded during the emission.
