MP 59

MP 59 is a type of subway trains on tires delivered in 1963 for the line 1 and 1967 for the line 4 of the Métro of Paris. The oars of this series were withdrawn towards 1997 line 1 and replaced on the line 11 the oars of the type MP 55. These oars should be put at the retirement with the arrival of MP 05 which will equip lines 1 and 11, MP 89 DC of line 1 (lately automated) passing then on line 4. An oar was transformed temporarily into Subway-Video.

  • Montreal: The variation of this material for the Métro of Montreal is called MR-63. These cars were built for the opening of the subway in 1966 by Canadian Vickers. They were renovated in 1983 and should be replaced as from 2010 by a new model built by Bombardier Transport. However, the French firm Alstom question the contract in court. One also uses indentic MR-73 visually with the first but with technical innovations.
