MODO hockey
MODO Hockey is a team of Hockey of the city Örnsköldsvik in Sweden. The team evolves/moves in division Swedish Élite, the Elitserien.
History
Created in 1921, the team has like first name Alfredshems IK . She keeps this name until of 1963, year when she is re-elected in the honor of the principal silent partner of the time, Mo och Domsjö ab (which was then called MoDo). Between 1964 and 1986, the team takes the name of MoDo AIK and it gains the championship in 1979. The team will manage with difficulty to repeat the exploit.In 1986, the team changes name and takes as official name MODO Hockey . She will approach some in 1994 when she will reach the finales with a young team which will have at her head, Peter Forsberg, player high-speed motorboat at the time of the Olympic Games of Lillehammer, and Niklas Sundström. The team will be demolished by Malmö IF.
Since then, MODO was essential like a team of foreground of the circuit Elitserien, reaching the finales into 1999,2000 and 2002 more, before being essential in 2007.
The MODO became a seedbed of promising talents which often led in the National league of hockey. In addition to the famous Peter Forsberg, Niklas Sundström, Markus Näslund, the twins Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin with the number of are discovered MODO. During the conflict of the LNH in 2004-05, some foreign professional players of the LNH joined the team (Adrian Aucoin, daN Hinote and František Kaberle in particular).
