MID 88
The MID 88 was a study by the SNCF of a version of the MID 84 being able to use one 3rd rail in 750 V in order to modernize the Ligne of Moulineaux.
The cost of modification of the new material being prohibitory within sight of the traffic considered, wrongly, and within sight of the weak performances compared with a simple tram, it was abandoned.
All this probably contibué with the decision of transfer of the Ligne of the Slopes by the SNCF with the the RATP, which was retrospectively a serious error considering the success of the T2.
