Biography
MC Eiht, is native of Compton, suburbs force sadly celebrates of Los Angeles for its many gang S and its traffic of Drogue. Its texts clearly exposed the hard reality of the life of the poor districts. It particularly developed Gangsta rap as a leader of the group influential and discussed Compton' S Most Wanted. He will also play in 1993 a role in a film of the Hugues brothers to the cinema entitled Menace II Society.
In 1994, its first album solo, " We Like Strapped" , became gold disc and reached the first place of charts R&B during five weeks and the fifth of the pop charts In one of its criticism, the L.A. Times qualified " We Like Strapped" like " certainly the best of the year in the style Gangsta rap". The Source gave him four microphones (the notation of the magazine), describing the album like " a part maîtresse" and added: " Eiht showed that its hard worked vocal inflection were equalized by nobody on the micro". MC Eiht appeared on several band-original with success like Boyz 'NR The Hood, Menace II Society, Tales From The Hood, New Jersey Drive or The Show. The song of the Boyz film “NR The Hood entitled " Growin” Up In The Hood " was a hit extracted the album " Straight Chek NR Em" of its group, the Compton' S Most Wanted, left in 1991. Thereafter, MC Eiht accepted then the reward for the " category; better acteur" by the magazine The Source for its role of A-Wax in film of the Hughes brothers, Threat II Society. Its song, " Streiht Up Menace" became a major hit for the B.O of the film which reached the statute of platinum disc.
In 1996, it leaves in continuation a second album solo called " Death Threatz". On this opus, a piece entitled " Def Wish 4" is an episode of the long clash which it delivers against DJ Quik, a conflict which goes back to the beginning of the career of MC Eiht. " Death Threatz" becomes a business of family with the title " Coil For The Hood" , " It is a piece on which figure my young brother, Da Foe, that I try to launch, it was thus a chance for him to show its habilité".
In 1997, it returns then with " Last Man Standing" , an album one can different with a slow style, One finds among the producers of this album DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill and its partner of Comptons Most Wanted, DJ Slip. MC Eiht did a work different from the others on this album, probably in order to increase its audience. Even its lyrics changed, they reflect less with dimensions gangsta and are more considered. On this album, it stopped even its clashes towards DJ Quik.
In 1999, its fourth album solo, " Section 8" (its first at Hoo-Bangin' Records, the label of Mack 10) shows and proves that even if it is a rapor recognized in the medium, its contribution to the world of the rap and always a work in progress. MC Eiht was essential itself a pause to reflect on the way in which he wanted to leave his label and to choose new which would deal well with him and would offer a good promotion to its formerly discussed words. After having patiently evaluated all the proposals, include that of the label of Master P No Limit Records, Eiht finally found the house perfect for its music while signing at Hoo-Bangin', the label of Mack 10 distributed by Priority. " I needed to be in this position when they know how to be caught there with an artist like me. That with thus given a direction to my connection with Mack 10 which, since he is a rappor gangsta like me, knows how to return in projects like mine, particularly thanks to connection with Priority" described MC Eiht.
This same year, in 2000, MC Eiht reformed its group, Compton' S Most Wanted in order to leave a new album, " Represent". The album accepted warm welcome, which pushed the group to leave " When We Wuz Bangin'", a best off gathering their best pieces since their beginning which left him in 2001. However, Mack 10 stopped Hoo-Bangin' Records and it is thus under BaySyde Entertaitment that MC Eiht always left in this same year 2001 its 6th album solo, " Tha8t' Z Gangsta". This album is another example of the value of the productions West Coast. Separately the productions, work with the microphone of Eiht remains faithful to that of its old albums. It returns however on this album with a style even more Old School, with titles like " Why U Hott? " or " BacDaFucOnUp". In 2002 it leaves its 7th album solo, " Hero" underground; , on which one finds Mack 10, Yukmouth, Sticky Fingaz and The Outlawz.
